Desert Penguins Chess Club is the winner of 2021 UK Chess Challenge Club Championship! We congratulate the children and their coach on this amazing achievement!
The UK Chess Challenge first took place in 1996 and has since grown into the largest children’s chess tournament in the world. The beauty of the event is that it welcomes all-comers from beginners to National Champions and schools from all corners of the United Kingdom take part. There is nothing quite like this in the world of chess.
100 Junior Chess Clubs and more than 500 children, from all parts of the UK, took part in the Championship. Desert Penguins showed sensational chess level and convincingly won the tournament. The link to the championship standings can be found here
