3 National Champions for Desert Penguins

2019 continues to be a great chess year for Desert Penguins Junior Chess Club.

Congratulations!

Arman Tengayev and Ismail Longia- Zaidi became National Champions with the Kent U11 years old team for the second year running.

Alex Royce became National Champion with Richmond U9 years old team. Alex despite being one year younger than his opponents won all his 3 matches.

Andrew Macleod came tie for 1st Place in minor U18 years old section in Chislehurst Kent Grand Prix. Andrew is our veteran Penguin and one of the best U11 years old players in UK.

Owen Xu came tie for 1st Place in U11 years old section in Chislehurst Kent Grand Prix. Owen is a relatively new Penguin, but made a huge progress in last 4 months.

Andrew Solopovas came 1st Place at Richmond Last Chance Saloon in U7 years old category. Andrew also came tie for 6th place in U9 years old section in Chislehurst Kent Grand Prix. Andrew, 7 years old, is for sure one of the brightest Desert Penguins' prospects.

Antony Dane came 1st Place at Richmond Last Chance Saloon in U8 years old category and also tie for 3rd place in the overall standings. Great performance by Antony who improved dramatically in the last 3 months.

James Dane came tie for 2nd Place at Richmond Last Chance Saloon in U8 years old category. James also had a great performance in U11 years old section at Kent Grand Prix in Chislehurst. He won 3 matches out of 6 games against much older and stronger opponents.

We would like to invite all children Under 14 years old to take part in Desert Penguins Summer Cup tournament which will take place on 22nd June. There will be 3 Sections: Under 8, Under 10 and Under 14 years old. You can download the form here
