"Giant Killer" from Desert Penguins

Desert Penguin Andrew MacLeod represented us in ADULT Chess Club in Hammersmith. He took part in the opening fixture of Middlesex League. It was a truly thrilling encounter between the two Hammersmith teams where Andrew (113 ECF) caused the biggest upset of the night by defeating a very experienced opponent, Brian Dodgeon (140 ECF).

"However, the upset of the night came from our very own recently-crowned most improved player, Andrew Macleod, who successfully turned giant-killer in taking down Brian. What a great result from the promising young talent!" - reads the match report.

Andrew received a prize of the Most Improved Player 2017/18 in Hammersmith ADULT Chess Club. Congratulations and keep up the good work!
